ECPI Stockholm Meeting in March 2012

The members of the ECPI met in Stockholm in March 2012 for a kick-off meeting regarding the development of general principles for approximating the laws of criminal procedure. Based on their experiences with the first manifesto and the respective comments and suggestions the group received from scholars and legal practitioners, the group developed a general framework for assessing and formulating these principles, which are all part of the law of the European Union. This framework will ensure a comprehensive analysis of these principles and at the same time allow for applying them to concrete policy proposals.
