DFG-funded research project: Harmonisation of Criminal Sanctions in the EU (2015-2018)
The objective of the research project funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft – DFG) is to develop guidelines for the future harmonisation of criminal sanctions in the EU that shall be primarily addressed to the European legislator. The project is based on a comprehensive survey of the respective current Union law as well as on a broadly conceived comparative survey of the law on sanctions that the international composition of project participants allows for: The research team that originated from the European Criminal Policy Initiative (ECPI) and accordingly has been labelled ECPIGlobal brings together criminal law professors from 12 European and three extra-European states.
